Black light - Held Helmer-Peterson
When I took these photos, I was focused on capturing the minute details we usually do not notice. I took them at varied focal lengths and settings however they all share a the same colours style, all intense black and white edits, some more grainy than others. Inspired by Held Helmer-Peterson, I tried to recreate a similar theme with my photos however with my twist, showing more attention to detail by making the photos less contrasting so texture is still retained in the photos. I also searched for objects with dull colours of black and white as I believe they usually have more interesting textures due to the lack of colour to make up for, and it also creates a more authentic and less randomly shaded image.
Photos Of The City
I decided to take these photos at different times and days, to add variety and sense of change and time, most photos were taken within a week however I chose some existing photos I had taken, and upon a closer look I realized small details which I had not noticed before, for example the top right image has a plane in the frame in the top left of the heart, this is completely by chance however is very rare for this to happen, I went back and edited the photo and using radial gradients I accentuated the silhouette of the plane. These photos are deliberately random, and are of things you would either not see often or would not think to take a photo of, for example the bottom photos, these are a documentation of a route I can take to school, in Lewisham, which at that time is considerably busy and you would not think to take a photo also because its not a photogenic location. I also used the contrast of plants and urban landscape.
The final images in this sequence are photos of a place that means a lot to me and has seen me through many varying times in my life, therefore despite being simple images they are special to me because of personal experience.

Shrimpzine made zine - Perspective
Photoshop made zine - Fast Life
I titled this zine "fast life" because I incorporated both vehicles and people in different places, in one image it is hard to notice however one contains a bird and the other contains a plane, another two images contain clocks suggesting time which references the name and the use of vehicles to an extent, excluding these, all the photos have a clear sense of either vehicle or living thing, alternating between completely different locations suggesting all these vehicles take you to all these different places with different people, hence the name "fast life".
I chose to format all the photos the same as a way to see which ones I intend on changing based on how I intemperate them in a zine.
the colours of the book contrast in the warmth and the cold party due to post processing.
I intend on improving the cover.
I used normal paper.

The fourth wall
The book discusses the legitimacy of documentary photography to question our ideas of fact or fiction.
Max Pinckers combines text and image well in this book, he has alternated between large font and small font on and off of the images, potentially using larger texts to highlight more important words and normal text for larger paragraphs. It also adds variation harmonizing with the random image formats. Not only are the image formats random, the images themselves are a random assortment of photos Max took around India, and the text helps to add meaning to them. This blurs reality and fiction as an approach to documentary aspects of the images. The paper used is similar to newspaper hence the text in newspaper font, and you can see through the pages as they are translucent. THE SUN
I intended to capture images showing off the climate and keep a similar colour scheme throughout the series to evoke a sense of nostalgia I associate with these colours, the bright lighting forced me to change the settings I usually shoot with so that the images weren't overly exposed and I therefore captured intimate details you would usually not notice by simply being there.
